PAYING CASH FOR BAIL VS. USING CAPITOL BAIL BONDS

When making the decision to pay full price of a bond with cash or to pay 10% to a bondsman you should consider a few facts.

Paying cash for a bond is when the defendant or friend/family post full amount to the court through the sheriffs office and is not financed through a bail agent. If the defendant owes any money in regards to the current case the courts will take that amount owed from the cash and return what the remaining amount is to the person who paid for the defendants release. The cash is forfeited to the court in full if the defendant fails to appear in court. The court will hold the full amount of cash until the case is concluded.

When using a bondsman you will pay a 10% premium for release of the defendant. A bail bond agreement is a binding contract in which the signer ensures that the defendant will show up for their hearing.

Capitol Bail Bonds understands that sometimes inconvenient things happen and these sudden things can at times keep a defendant from making it to their court date. They can give a grace period to a defendant who wants to make things right with their bondsman. With a cash bond this is never an option.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE CONTACTING CAPITOL BAIL BONDS

Getting the call that a loved one is in jail is always an unfortunate situation. The first thought many people have is, how can we get them out as quickly as possible? Calling any bail bondsman is not a magical get out of jail free card but we are here to help you through the process. Try to remain calm and we will do our part in trying to help keep your stress down as well during this process.

We at Capitol Bail Bonds are qualified professionals with loved ones as well. We understand that bad things happen to good people. and we will try to help you by talking about what steps (at minimum/at best) you should take before calling Capitol Bail Bonds so we can work together in keeping the process of bringing your loved one home as smooth as possible.

The minimum amount of information you should have before calling a bail bondsman is the full name of the person in custody - along with the city, state, and name of the jail they are being held in.

To make the process smoother you may also call the jail and find out the booking number and bail amount prior to calling Capitol Bail Bonds. If you do not have the booking number and bail amount our team can find this out for you with a call to the jail where your loved one is being held.

By providing a date of birth, the location of arrest, a list of charges, and any other information that you think may be helpful we will be on our way to getting your loved one home.
